UPDATE: 01/04/06 Zeusers grew up to be a big beautiful boy. He is the most beautiful, perfect self agouti I've ever laid eyes on. He likes to hide in my shirt. He is alittle hard to coax out of his cage. He must feel very secure and safe in there. He is very alert and curious. He turned out to be a very nice guy.
"Zeusers" is still to young to say for sure how he will turn out, but so far, he is a doll. He looks like a little deer mouse. He has a short turned up nose and huge black eyes. You can see his Norwegian Rattie natural looks shining through.
He has perfect conformation. He is a show quality rattie and would win ribbons I'm sure. He is the first rattie of mine that I think is good enough to show. Now I just have to work on his socializtion and make sure he is calm and friendly to the show judges.
Update: Zeus died on 11/26/06 at 3:50pm. Cause of death was respirtory failure. I had sprayed the rattery for lice a few days before and shortly after that I noticed his nose was stopped up. It's possible he breathed some of the spray into his lungs and it caused an infection. He was the most beautiful rat I've ever had. He was "perfect." Beauitful coat, short turned up nose, nice shaped ears and big wide set eyes. He set the standard for what I was trying to achieve in my lines. DCR had just given me one of her best females to pair him up with, but he never got the chance to breed. I was also unsuccessful in breeding his sister Cutie Pie, so this part of my lines will not carry on. It's so sad, these ratties where so pretty and had nice personalities. Very very sad over his death.
