Sparkle is such a sweet little rattie girl. Lots of personality. I think she is the one I'm going to breed to my favorite rattie guy Sterling. The rattie babies from this pairing should be affectionate and friendly. Update: on June 10th, 2008 I put Sterling and Sparkle in for breeding. They adore each other. It's rattie love at it's best! They were made for each other, rattie "soulmates," lol. :>) I will adore their kids with all my heart! Precious little fur friends! |
Update: 07/21/08 Sparkle lost her battle with pneumonia today and was put to rest. Abby is taking good care of her babies, though they seemed depressed, like they know she's gone. I think the whole process of childbirth was just to much for Sparkle, she started going down hill right after giving birth. Poor Sterling really loved her a lot and I was looking forward to a couple months from now when I could put them together for the remainder of their lives, but alas it was not meant to be. Sparkle gave Sterling her greatest gift, a son and daughter to carry on for both of them. They look like her but have Sterling's curly hair. I will celebrate Sparkles transition to the Rainbow Bridge. She is at peace. Update: 07/19/08 I thought Sparkle was doing great but today I noticed she is wheezing. I'm starting her on antibiotics but I don't know if she's strong enough or interested enough to drink the water I have to put them in. It's the weekend and I'm unable to seek doctors assistance until Monday. If I can't get her to drink the medicine she may not make it long enough for me to get her in. I have taken her babies away from her and given them to Abby to raise. Abby has now become a surrogate Mother for both Pearl and Sparkle's babies, so she is caring for five babies now. Sparkle's babies are half brothers and sisters to Gemmi. Gemmi is grooming them. It's so cute. Sparkle's babies just opened their eyes and are almost the same size as Pearls. I made sure to rub the bedding from Abby's birthing unit all over the babies so they would have her scent on them. I hope all goes well and Abby can finish raising Sparkle's babies. I fear I may be saying goodbye to Sparkle this weekend. How sad to loose her so young. I think she has pneumonia. No one else is sick, so I don't think it's myco related. Sparkle never got very big and she's always been fragile, "dainty," or "petite." Update: 07/14/08 Sparkle seems to have gotten over her "cold" and is doing great. Her babies are getting so fat. She is raising her babies away from Sterling, but I showed him his beautiful son and daughter. :>) Update: As of 06/29/08. Sparkle has been doing some sneezing and her nose is stopped up. She has been living with Sterling and he has been unaffected by whatever is going on with her so I know it's not contagious. I've put vitamins in their water supply. As of 02/01/08 her health is excellent. |
