He is a little reserved. He is laid back and non-aggressive or confrontational. I guess the best way to describe his temperament would be "detached." I don't attribute his behavior to any genetic temperament problems, I think it stems from socialization issues when he was younger. He was on loan from JCH, because I was working on getting masked ratties, but he has ended up permanently mine, as JCH is downsizing.
Update 06/09/06: Silver has had a stroke. He is very weak in his hind quarters. I've made him as comfortable as I can. I don't expect him to live much longer. He is over two years old, so he has lived a long life.
UPDATE: 06/12/06 Silver passed away this morning. He died peacefully in his sleep. His eyes were closed and he was lying on his side. He turned out to be a really nice rattie. He was very laid back and gentle. I was hoping for offspring from him, but none of the girls I put him with got pregnant. I think he was just too old and not interested or possibly his hind quarters hindered him. May he rest in peace.
