Perty is a really great rattie girl. She is laid back and mellow. I've been really lucky this season all of my females have been really mellow as compared to past litters. I think it's the carrying pouch I'm now using to raise everyone with along with voice recognition. I start singing to the rattie babies a special song as soon as their ears are developed enough to hear me. I actually was able to recover a baby that had escaped to the ground by using the pouch and singing the song. He walked right up to me and crawled in the pouch! The little song I sing goes like this: "Hello my friends hello. Hello, hello, hello. So nice to need you so, hello my friends hello." I actually learned this voice recognition training process from my friend Shelley of Everwild Rattery who sings a special song to all her babies very similar to the one I'm using. She's had great results with the socializtion process since it's inception and so have I! Who would have ever known that ratties like to be sung to! :>() |
