Understanding Ratties 101: What is a triple dilute? It's a rat that carries three different colors thus causing it to wash out to white with ruby eyes. Triple dilutes are not albino rats that have no color to them at all, and have pink eyes. If you breed a triple dilute to another triple dilute you would get some of the colors they each carry such as in this case, Russian blue, Russian Silver and Russian Dove.

Therefore, many breeders like acquiring dilutes if they are trying to introduce these colors into their lines or bring them out in their lines. On the otherhand breeders don't like them showing up in lines where they are hoping for just one color or certain colors. In my case I was hoping for all Russian blues or possibly Russian Silver and Dove. When you are working with all these different colors this is what you get, lol.
