08/13/08	Siamese Dwarf	These little dwarfies are so tiny but really sweet. This is the first male dwarf I saved from the adults I got shipped in from California. I will use him to expand my dwarf line in 2009. Even though he's a tiny little guy he's a very nice guy. I was surprised what great personalities dwarf ratties have.	Update: 02/25/09 Coco passed away today. He is now at peace. Update: 02/24/09 About a month ago I made the mistake of putting a young standard size male, Tom Thumb in with my dwarf males. Being Tom was a small guy himself, a runt, I didn't think there would be a problem with this. A couple days later I found Coco lying on the bottom of the cage. He had been bitten in the back of the neck. I healed him back to health and thought everything was going to be ok. I put him in a larger area after he healed to get some exercise and strengthen his muscles from the inactivity of the healing process. He bounced around and was having a great time. The next day he was laying on his side semi-paralyzed. I think when he got injured the first time there was nerve damage to his back. I think all his activity either reinjured this area or possibly he had a stroke related to his previous injury. I am having to bring water to him and give him very easy to eat foods as he's not able to sit up very long without falling over. Anyway, any plans of me being able to use him for my breeding program are gone and the most I can do is try to make him comfortable. If he makes it he'll always be a "special" needs rattie. He does not appear to be in any pain, if he were I'd have him put to sleep. As of 10/17/08 nothing to report.
