Buttercup is just as sweet as the beautiful flower she is named after. She is gentle and kind. She is laid back and calm. She loves to explore but also likes human attention. She is so relaxed when you pick her up, she tucks her feet in under her, having full trust in humans that they won't hurt her. She is probably one of the gentlest creatures I've had the pleasure to have met. A real doll! And her shade of fawn, leans more toward a blond shade than the red. I've never seen a rattie quite this color before. She is truly beautiful inside and out! | As of 01/03/06 her health is excellent. Update: On 8/23/06 Buttercup died unexpectedly. It appears she died of an abscess that had ruptured in her stomach area. I had not noticed anything was wrong. She acted fine. She was eating a piece of food when I found her lying dead in the bottom of her cage. She didn't even know she was dying it happened so fast. I'm glad she did not suffer. She was such a wonderful rattie. A good mother to her children and will live on through them. I have her daughter Butter Pecan, who looks and acts just like her. I look forward to future generations from this wonderful lineage. |
